Saturday marked the official beginning of autumn and you can already feel the island slowing down. This is a great time of year to come check out the foliage turning color and really get a feeling of island time. Most of the tourists have headed home and the kids are back in school. It is easy to find parking and the marinas are less opening up.

Next weekend marks the The 6th Annual Fall Festival of the Arts in Friday Harbor.

Celebrating the diverse artistic culture of the islands, enjoy two days of open art studios and art gallery events to delight your senses and feed your soul.

Savor this unique self-guided art tour showcasing local artists in their creative environment throughout San Juan Island plus gallery receptions and events into the evening in Friday Harbor.

Brochures with a map of studio locations and gallery information will be available at various locations in Friday Harbor. Be sure and visit Gallery 9 on 60 First St Friday Harbors newest and best gallery that happens to be owned by my wife.

While you are driving around the island, visit my friends Hawk and Suzie at the distillery near Roche Harbor. They produce award winning Westcott Bay hard cider and Spy Hop Gin, as well as a couple of other secrets (12 Anderson Lane).

The real estate market is going strong, and now remains a great time to get in the market if you have been sitting on the fence.

Mortgage rates remain historically low and there are still a few great deals out there.

Drop by and say Hi, our office is located at #1 Spring St next to Blue Water Grill.

Hope to see you next week at Artstock.
Best Regards!
