This is a beautiful time of year in the San Juan Islands.

The leaves are starting to change, there is a little chill in the air yet, the days are still clear and warm.

It is also an exciting time of year for our local farmers as their labor and toil is paying off with the harvest. I would encourage visitors and locals a like to experience the local bounty at our islands local farmers market. The farmers market is located at it’s permanent home at the Brickworks which is centrally located in down town Friday Harbor. The Market features local meats, veggies, flowers, and quality tasty treats such as sushi. The Market is held on Saturday from 10-1.

For more information check out their website: sjifarmersmarket.com/

If you are unable to make the Market on Saturday do not despair because you have to opportunity to stock up on local produce and meats at the San Juan Island Co-op. The Co-op brings together healthy, organic products from all over the region including from our island chain.

For more information check out their website: sanjuancoop.org/

So, grab a friend or partner and come on over to the islands and experience the beautiful early Fall colors and sample some of our local, healthy, and freshly grown and raised food.

Happy Autumn…
